Action Learning (in a room or on Zoom)
Laura has supported a number of organisations to recruit, set-up and facilitate Action Learning sets, which involves a group of individuals getting together in a structured and reflective way to explore their own solutions to their ideas, questions or issues. It’s a bit like coaching, but in a group or set, and is called action learning as participants invariably have actions to be tried out or taken having met.
Action learning gives people the chance to step outside the pressures of their professional role and to view things from a different perspective. Working with a small group of others, you get the opportunity to raise, discuss and learn about any issue that is significant for you. Through listening (really listening), questioning and sharing feedback, the group will challenge, support and assist the individual to identify their own solutions to take away and try out.

Case Study - Action Learning
Commissioned by Wales Millennium Centre, I instigated and supported their first ever Action Learning Set for producers and self-producing artists during 2020.
I know first hand how well Action Learning enables professional and personal development as well as giving wider sectoral support. Setting this up for Wales Millennium Centre involved checking the remit and scope, as well as support for the recruitment of attendees (eg copy, dissemination, selection etc). I then went on to host a first briefing session about the process and practice of Action Learning sets, supported with outline documentation, and then ran the following sets as a facilitator (half a day each, online). Following that the group felt confident to self-facilitate their next three sets and use the format to support them to do that as a group.

While we ask for a daily rate for our support and develop packages, we do try to work with you to accommodate your budget. The fees include preparation as well as delivery. Travel and accommodation is an additional charge at cost depending on location of face to face delivery.
